Carpe Diem supports the design of new programmes with a future-facing identity, the renewal of existing provision for the Intelligent Age, and the scaling of learning for digital and outreach environments.
Carpe Diem is a globally-adopted, collaborative learning design methodology created, tested and evaluated since 2000. It supports teams seeking anything from incremental integration of new technologies through to fully realised blended, hybrid or digital transformation.
Developed through sustained research and practice in higher and professional education, it brings teams together in structured design intensives to create coherent, engaging and future-ready curricula.
The Method
Carpe Diem is built on structured collaboration. Teams may include academic staff, learning designers, educational developers, learning technologists, librarians, quality specialists, industry partners, leaders, students and alumni, bringing diverse perspectives into purposeful design. Through a facilitated process, teams align vision, capabilities, assessment, learning activities and delivery modes into a coherent whole for learners' engagement and success.
The methodology draws on seminal, evidence-informed pedagogical frameworks, continually evolving to reflect AI-enabled contexts while preserving academic depth and coherence.

Constructive alignmen, visual curriculum mapping and storyboarding, active and online learning design, authentic, performance-based assessment, clear implementation planning. The results are shared clarity, confident ownership and designs ready for implementation.

Carpe Diem learning design sessions can be delivered face-to-face, fully digital or hybrid, supporting curriculum development across disciplines, professions and diverse institutional contexts.

Module Carpe Diem : Focused module/unit development.
Supports a single team or multiple teams — up to ten working in parallel — each developing a fully structured module design within a single intensive day, enriched by peer exchange and feedback.
